The Campaign

We Care To Get You There - $4M Capital Campaign. Through this 3-year campaign, Calgary HandiBus will partner with our community to raise $4 million to purchase buses and enhance our services.

We are currently into our final year of the campaign and over the $3M mark. Thank you for your support.

For 35 years Calgary HandiBus Association has been privileged to receive the support of our community. Donations from individuals, customers, businesses, foundations, and service clubs have enabled the purchase of each of our specially equipped buses.

With 136 vehicles in our fleet, we deliver 40,000 trips per month. We could not do this without the help of our donors!

As each bus usually lasts 10 years, each year we need to purchase at least 13 buses to maintain our fleet. Your generosity is needed to achieve this goals.

The Demand

HandiBus is proud to service Calgarians in need of special transportation. Our customers are people of all backgrounds: terminally ill, elderly, people with cognitive disabilities, chronic and temporary physical disabilities, all who are unable to use regular transit with safety and dignity.

The Customer

Today our customers range in age from 3 to 103! From the pre-schoolers with special needs to the elderly, the ambulatory to those using mobility devices. Together they benefit from our service for necessities of everyday life such as:

• Medicals
• Volunteering & Work
• School
• Shopping

The Service

Averaging 40.000 trips per month, HandiBus is the biggest provider of personalized door-to-door transportation service for people using mobility devices anywhere within the city.

How it works

One regular bus ticket per trip!
Our service is available to individuals registered with Access Calgary. Membership in the Association plays no bearing on service but is encouraged to keep the line of communication open so we can keep you up to date on our progress and receive your suggestions and feedback.

How you can help

100% of our vehicles are purchased with donor dollars, and we are asking that you help our customers, our fellow community of neighbours, by making a donation to Calgary HandiBus Association.

You can help customers like Trish, who use our service to get to her dialysis appointments. Your donation will help little Stephen… he rides the HandiBus to school. Your support will also help Marjorie… she counts on us to make it to seniors' swim class every week.
